SoCon Men’s Soccer Players of the Week Announced

SPARTANBURG, SC – ETSU forward Gavin Dick and UNC Greensboro goalkeeper Seth Wilson were named Southern Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for matches held from September 8-September 14.

Dick (Stirling, Scotland) led the Bucs to a pair of wins, including a 3-1 win last Wednesday at Virginia Tech. He scored his first career goal in the 10^th minute of the win in Blacksburg, VA, and followed with a goal and assist in a 4-3 win over Belmont at home on Saturday. Dick assisted on the Bucs’ first goal against the Bruins and followed with a goal to put the home side up 2-1 in the 30^th minute.

Dick has scored six points in six matches this season (two goals, two assists).

Wilson (Frisco, Texas) remains one of the SoCon’s stalwarts between the posts and proved valuable in UNCG’s narrow loss at No. 1 / No. 6 South Carolina on Friday night in Columbia. Wilson turned away seven shots – a season-high – to hold the Gamecocks to their lowest scoring output of the season. The only goal allowed came via an own goal off a corner kick deflection.

Wilson has 24 saves in six matches so far in 2026, with one clean sheet in a scoreless draw vs. San Francisco.

UNCG (1-1-4) hosts South Florida on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm for its first home match of the month. The Spartans open SoCon play on Saturday at home vs. Liberty (7:00 pm ET / ESPN+).

ETSU (3-3) takes its two-match win streak on the road to UNC Asheville on Wednesday night before opening SoCon action at Wofford on Saturday night in Spartanburg (6:00 pm ET / ESPN+)
