Furman, UNC Greensboro Advance to Men's Soccer Finals

Showdown of Nationally-Ranked Teams Set For November 16 in Greenville, SC

No. 1 Furman 4, No. 5 Wofford 2

FUR – Southern Conference regular season champion Furman scored a pair of goals in each half to top Wofford, 4-2, in Sunday's SoCon Men's Soccer Championship semifinal round at Stone Soccer Stadium to advance to next weekend's finals. The Paladins (13-1-4), ranked fifth nationally and riding a seven-match winning streak following Sunday's victory, will host the championship match on Sunday, November 16, on Seagraves Field at Eugene Stone III Soccer Stadium against the winner of tonight's contest between No. 3 seed UNC Greensboro and No. 2 seed Mercer. Next Sunday's kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tickets will go on sale for $10 later this week on FurmanPaladins.com and SoConSports.com.


WOF – The Wofford men's soccer team (6-11-1, 1-4-0 SoCon) concludes the inaugural season under head coach  Ryan Osborne  after falling to No. 1 seed Furman, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon. Samuel Byron and Adam Celik scored goals for the Terriers.


No. 3 UNC Greensboro 2, No. 2 Mercer 0

UNCG – The No. 20 and third-seeded UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's soccer team defeated second seed Mercer, 2-0, in the semifinal round of The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament on Sunday at Betts Stadium in Macon, Georgia. An early goal from Téva Lossec set the tone early and a second half strike from  Arnaud Tattevin  sealed the game with his fourth goal of the postseason.  


MER – The Mercer Bears (5-9-4)) dropped its semifinal matchup to the No. 3 seeded UNC Greensboro (12-3-4, 3-2-0 SoCon), 2-0, at Betts Stadium on Sunday evening. The Spartans opened the scoring in the fourth minute off when Teva Lossec finished Steven Hernandez's corner kick. UNCG would double its lead in the 58th minute when Arnaud Tattevin rifled a shot off the post and in. Mercer peppered the Spartans with five shots in the final 15 minutes, however UNCG was able to keep the Bears off the scoreboard.
