SoCon Men's Soccer Semifinals Set For Sunday

UNCG, Wofford Advance With Friday Victories

#5 Wofford 2, #4 ETSU 1 (2 OT)

WOF – The Wofford men's soccer team (6-10-1, 1-4-0 SoCon) advanced to the Southern Conference Tournament Semifinals after overtime heroics by  Declan Mettee . The Terriers took down the No. 4 seeded ETSU, 2-1, in overtime on Friday night in Stone Soccer Stadium. They will play No. 1 seeded Furman on Sunday, November 9.


ETSU - The ETSU men's soccer team's 2025 season came to an end in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Wofford Terriers at Stone Stadium on Friday night. After absorbing pressure for most of the first half, the Buccaneers (2-9-4) got on the board first in the 38th minute.  Jaime Carrillo  forced a save out of Terriers (6-10-2) goalkeeper Pepe Hinterschuster creating a corner kick. Wofford failed to clear the ball beyond Cruz, who struck a rising shot that pinged off the head of defender Nick Dyer and fluttered inside the left post.


#3 UNCG 5, #6 VMI 1

UNCG – The No. 20 and third-seeded UNC Greensboro men's soccer team defeated sixth-seeded VMI, 5-1, in the first round of The Southern Conference (SoCon) Tournament on Friday at Betts Stadium in Macon, Georgia.  Arnaud Tattevin  recorded his second career hat trick in the first half, while  Enzo Dovlo  and  Colton Sessoms  each added a goal for the Spartans. 


VMI –  VMI Men's Soccer bowed out of the Southern Conference Championship after a first-round loss to three seed No. 20 UNC Greensboro Friday at Betts Stadium. The Keydets (3-12-3) close out the season with a 5-1 loss to the Spartans (11-3-4) in neutral territory.   Jordan Savage  picked up his first goal of the season in the 31st minute.
