 </a>RALEIGH, NC – The UNC Greensboro men's soccer team's magical postseason run came to an end after a 2-0 loss to No. 15 NC State on Sunday at Dail Soccer Field in Raleigh, North Carolina. NC State scored in the sixth minute to take an early lead, but UNCG recovered and put two shots on goal later in the half that were saved by the Wolfpack keeper. The Spartans kept pressure on in the second half with two more shots on goal, but NC State extended its advantage with a goal in the 79th minute and held on for the victory.</div>

 </a>(UNCG Advances, 4-3, on Penalty Kicks) CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA – UNC Greensboro went on the road late Sunday afternoon and advanced past No. 2 seed Virginia on penalty kicks after playing to a 2-2 draw in regulation. The Spartans (12-4-5) led 2-1 after 45 minutes, striking first on an Issah Haruna goal in the fifth minute. Haruna scored off a pass from Daniel Longo. The Cavaliers (12-2-5) knotted the score in the 15th minute, but Pablo Torre made good use of a nice pass from Haruna in the 39th minute to give the visitors another lead. Outstanding play between the posts by All-SoCon keeper Seth Wilson kept UNCG in front for much of the second half, but a foul call in the box led to a penalty kick chance for Virginia, and Nicholas Simmonds connected for his 10th goal in the 80th minute for a 2-2 score. Wilson finished with 10 saves in the match. The equalizer came less than three minutes after Haruna had a golden chance blocked by the Cavaliers' defense. The Spartans' defense came through down the stretch to keep the score level, turning away a flurry of activity from the home side. Virginia's Brendan Lambe had a shot blocked in the 89th minute (88:33), and Wilson saved his shot off the carom three seconds later to send the game to overtime. UNCG and Virginia played to a 1-1 draw during their regular-season battle in Charlottesville, but penalty kicks were in store after two scoreless extra periods on Sunday. Arnaud Tattevin led off with a successful attempt to give UNCG an early edge, and Virginia's Simmonds clanged his chance off the corner of the crossbar. The two sides traded successful attempts, but a save by Virginia's Casper Mols left the door open – and the Cavaliers' Jesus De Vicente connected to make the tally even at 3-3. Kimito Fritz, who produced the deciding penalty kick in Thursday's successful result against Elon, was accurate again on the Spartans' final attempt for a 4-3 advantage. The Paladins (15-1-4) will host Hofstra next Sunday, November 30, at 1:00 pm. Hofstra upset top-seeded Vermont, the defending national champion, on Sunday afternoon. Campbell's strike came in the 43rd minute off a nifty pass from SoCon Player of the Year Diego Hernandez. Hernandez took a feed from Wilfer Bustamente and quickly passed to Campbell off his heel for the difference maker. It was Campbell's first goal of the season and marked the eighth assist of the season for Hernandez. Bustamante, a two-time All-SoCon selection, registered his seventh assist. Western Michigan (8-10-4) had chances in the first half, but managed only one shot on goal. SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year Ivan Horvat turned that chance away and finished with his ninth clean sheet of the year. A near-capacity crowd of 2,205 provided strong and vocal support for the home side. Hofstra (14-5-0) earned an at-large bid after losing in the CAA semifinals to Stony Brook, but blanked Syracuse (2-0) in the opening round and got past No. 1 Vermont (3-2) with an overtime goal in the 96th minute.</div>

Reid put his left foot on the carom after Wilfer Bustamante's header in the 107th minute, slipping the game-winner into the lower right corner. Bustamante's chance came off a terrific ball from Connor Stout. The Paladins (14-1-4) have won two SoCon Championships in a row and have 16 since the event began in 1988. Head coach Doug Allison, in his 31st and final season in charge at Furman, won his 11th title. The battle between a pair of top-20 teams lived up to its advanced billing, with both sides competing well throughout Sunday's title bout. Furman, ranked fifth nationally, will await their seeding in the NCAA Championship, with that announcement coming during the selection show at 1:00 pm ET on Monday (NCAA.com). <div class="payload-richtext">SPARTANBURG, SC – Regular season champion and nationally-ranked Furman swept the Southern Conference's four individual men's soccer postseason awards Thursday and landed eight men on the 2025 All-SoCon teams. Midfielder Diego Hernandez (Mesquite, TX) was named Player of the Year, Ivan Horvat (Bratislava, Slovakia) was named Goalkeeper of the Year, defender Braden Dunham (Peachtree City, GA) was named Freshman of the Year, and Doug Allison (Bath, England) was named Coach of the Year after a stellar regular season for the Paladins. The conference's six head coaches voted on the All-Conference first and second teams, an All-Freshman team, and the four individual awards. The coaches are not allowed to vote for candidates from their own team. Each All-SoCon unit consists of three forwards, three midfielders, three defenders, a goalkeeper, and the player with the next-highest number of votes, regardless of position. The 11-man SoCon All-Freshman Team is positionless. Furman and UNC Greensboro each had eight selections on the All-SoCon team, with the Paladins leading the way with five first-team members. Mercer (4), Wofford (3), and ETSU (1) also had players on the All-SoCon first or second team. Hernandez scored 24 points during the regular season, tied atop the SoCon stat sheet, and led the league with eight assists. His efforts earned slots on the Hermann Award Midseason Watch List and the Top Drawer Soccer Player of the Year Leaderboard. Three of his eight goals scored were game winners. He recorded two braces this season and logged a season-high two assists in a SoCon win over ETSU on October 11. Horvat answered the call in his first season between the posts, recording five shutouts and a SoCon-best 0.77 goals against average among regulars. He led the SoCon in save percentage (81.0%) and forged an 11-1-3 record in goal. Three of his shutouts came against nationally-ranked teams, with scoreless draws against No. 9 San Diego and No. 5 Virginia Tech – and a 2-0 win over UNC Greensboro in a critical SoCon showdown on October 25. He earned SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors three times during the regular season. Dunham starred for a Furman backline that held opponents to just 14 goals on the season, the best mark in the SoCon. He saw action in 17 matches (all starts) and made his presence felt on the offensive end as well, scoring four goals to go with two assists. He netted all four goals over a three-match stretch that saw Furman post a 2-0-1 mark. Defensively, Dunham was a key part of seven shutouts by the Paladins and six matches in which Furman allowed only one goal. Against nationally ranked opponents this season, Dunham and the Paladins' defense allowed only two goals. Furman was 2-0-3 in those matches. Allison, who is in his 31st and final season in charge of the Furman program, won his 10th SoCon Coach of the Year award. His team earned preseason national recognition in the polls and remained a fixture in the top 25 despite playing one of the most challenging schedules in program history. The Paladins (12-1-4) finished with the program's highest regular-season win total since posting 13 victories in 2018. Allison has 361 career wins, which ranks in the top 25 nationally among active coaches. The Paladins reached No. 5 in the Top Drawer Soccer national poll this week. UNC Greensboro had three of its eight choices earn first-team honors, with forward Enzo Dovlo (Paris, France), joined by midfielder Julien Le Bourdoulous (Quemperven, France) and defender Sami Lachekar (Metz, France). Mercer forward Junior Casillas (Lexington, NE) earned first-team honors along with defender Eli Bannister (Fayetteville, GA), and Wofford was represented on the first team by midfielder Kalle Rahbek (Odense, Denmark). The 2025 SoCon Men's Soccer Championship gets underway on Friday, with quarterfinal matches set for Greenville, SC, and Macon, GA. <div class="payload-richtext">SPARTANBURG, SC – UNCG forward Arnaud Tattevin and VMI defender Jack Yough were named Southern Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for matches held from October 28-November 1. Tattevin (Rennes, France / ETP Odorico) scored twice in the No. 19 Spartans’ 3-0 win over second-seeded Mercer in the regular season finale, securing the third seed for UNCG in the upcoming SoCon Men’s Soccer Championships. His goal in the 67th minute proved to be the game winner, and his score on a penalty kick in the 79th minute sealed the win. Tattevin has eight goals and two assists (18 points) in 16 starts this season for the Spartans, elevating his career stats to 22 goals and 48 points with another strong campaign. Tattevin has five game winners in his career, with four coming this season. Yough (Poughkeepsie, NY / Our Lady of Lourdes) lifted VMI to its first SoCon win since October 19, 2002, snapping an 87-match losing streak that spanned 8,414 days. The freshman played 90 minutes of strong defense, holding ETSU scoreless until the 87th minute in a 2-1 victory. He netted an unassisted goal in the 50th minute to provide the difference on a historic day for the Keydets. Yough leads VMI with three goals on the season, including a pair of game winners. UNCG and VMI will square off Friday evening in the SoCon quarterfinals in Macon, GA.  </a> (Link) SPARTANBURG, SC – Furman captured its 22nd Southern Conference regular season men’s soccer championship with a 2-0 road win at Wofford Saturday night. The Paladins have won more SoCon regular season titles than any other program. The regular season trophy is the first for Furman since 2020 and comes on the heels of a SoCon Tournament Championship and first-round NCAA Tournament win in 2024. The 7th-ranked Paladins (12-1-4, 4-0-1 SoCon) are riding a six-match win streak and lost only once this season despite a challenging, nationally relevant schedule.  The title is the 12th under legendary head coach Doug Allison, who is in his final season in charge of the Paladins. In matches vs. top-25 teams this season, the Paladins are 2-0-3, with draws against top-10 programs Duke, Virginia Tech, and San Diego. Furman also blitzed No. 8 Gardner-Webb on the road by a score of 4-1 on September 12 and captured a critical 2-0 win over No. 18 UNC Greensboro last week. This year’s tournament begins on Friday, November 7. Furman will host one side of the bracket in Greenville, SC, and No. 2 seed Mercer will host the other side in Macon, GA. Semifinal matches will be on Sunday, November 9, and the championship match will be at the highest remaining seed on either November 15 or 16. Furman will play the winner of No. 4 ETSU and No. 5 Wofford on Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 pm in Greenville. The Bucs and Terriers will face off on November 7 at 4:00 pm. Mercer posted a 3-1-1 mark in SoCon play, including a draw with Furman in the league opener, to earn the No. 2 seed. The Bears will play the winner of No. 3 UNC Greensboro and No. 6 VMI on Sunday, November 9, at 7:00 pm in Macon. The Spartans and Keydets will play on November 7 at 7:00 p.m. UNCG, ranked No. 21 nationally, secured the No. 3 seed with a 3-0 win over the Bears on Saturday night. The Spartans played a strong national schedule out of conference, posting excellent results and picking up a key regional win over No. 5 High Point. UNCG played well at No. 9 Virginia and No. 3 NC State in October, earning draws in both matches. VMI ended the regular season on a high note as well, snapping an 87-match losing streak in SoCon play that stretched back to the 2002 season. The Keydets defeated ETSU, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon, its first SoCon win since beating The Citadel, 4-2, on September 16, 2002, in Lexington, VA. <div class="payload-richtext">SPARTANBURG, SC – ETSU junior Jaime Carrillo and Furman sophomore Ryan Wagner were named Southern Conference offensive and defensive players of the week for matches held from October 21-27. Carrillo (Amarillo, Texas / Palo Duro HS) scored a pair of goals in the second half to help ETSU pull away from Wofford in a 4-2 SoCon win that clinched a top-four regular season finish for the Bucs. He took a pass from Berkay Duman and found the back of the net in the 61stminute, extending the Buccaneers lead to 3-1. He put the game out of reach in the 65th minute off an assist by Henrique Cruz for a 4-1 advantage. Carrillo has scored five goals and recorded an assist in 12 matches this season (11 starts), leading the Bucs in points and goals in 885 minutes played. Wagner (Leawood, KS / Blue Valley North HS) scored a goal in No. 7 Furman’s 2-1 non-conference win at UNC Asheville on Tuesday and anchored the backline for the Paladins in a critical 2-0 victory over No. 18 UNC Greensboro Saturday night in Greenville. The win kept Furman in a tie for first place in the SoCon standings with one match to go and clinched a top-two seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Wagner has started 13 matches for Furman this season, including five shutouts, powering a Paladin defense that leads the SoCon with only 14 goals allowed. <div class="payload-richtext">SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its 2026 Hall of Fame Class Thursday, with five individuals and one team comprising the Hall's 11th group of honorees. The ceremony will be held at Battery Park Hall in Asheville, NC, on Thursday, March 5. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale to the public at a later date. Georgia Southern football coach Paul Johnson (1997-2001), The Citadel football standout Paul Maguire (1957-1959), Davidson men's basketball coach Bob McKillop (1992-2014), Furman women's basketball student-athlete and coach Jackie Smith Carson (1996-2000, 2010-2023), and App State men's soccer legend Thompson Usiyan (1977-1980) were selected for this year's class.  For the first time in the Hall of Fame's existence, teams were eligible for nomination, and the iconic 2007 App State Football team was the top vote getter. "The Hall of Fame Ceremony at The SoCon Soirée recognizes the most exceptional individuals and teams in our conference's 100-plus year history,” said SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross. “There is no better way to launch SoCon Week and the Ingles SoCon Basketball Championships in Asheville. This new event creates another stellar reason for more friends and fans to join us here in Asheville during SoCon week,” added Vic Isley, president & CEO of Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. Johnson elevated a proud Georgia Southern football program to elite heights during his five-season run as head coach. The Newland, N.C., native and 1979 Western Carolina University graduate went 62-10 overall during that time, including a 36-4 mark in SoCon play to go with five conference titles. His winning percentage of 86.1 trails only that of University of Tennessee head coach Robert Neyland (1926-1932) in Southern Conference history and is the highest in the modern era. Johnson led the Eagles to Division I-AA national titles in 1999 and 2000, and his team finished in the top 10 of the final national rankings in each of his five seasons in Statesboro. The 1997 and 1998 SoCon Coach of the Year and 1999 and 2000 AFCA I-AA National Coach of the Year, Johnson was also the Eddie Robinson Award winner in 1998. He became one of only four head coaches in Division I football history to record at least 50 wins in their first four seasons. Johnson went on to successful stints as the head coach at the United States Naval Academy and Georgia Tech, leading his teams to 13 bowl appearances. He was named National Coach of the Year in 2008 and led Georgia Tech to an ACC Championship and an Orange Bowl appearance in his second campaign. Johnson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023. Maguire enjoyed a terrific career on the gridiron at The Citadel as a tight end and punter from 1956 to 1959. The Youngstown, Ohio, native led the Bulldogs in receiving yards each of his four seasons and was the team's top punter three times. The two-time All-SoCon selection had his best season in 1959, powering The Citadel to an 8-2 overall mark and a 5-1 record in SoCon play. Maguire led the team with 32 catches for 549 yards and a national-best 10 touchdowns as a senior, earning 1959 SoCon Player of the Year and third team Associated Press All-America honors. Maguire also led the league with a then-school-record 42.8 yards per punt on 32 attempts. He finished his career with 76 catches for 1,524 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 20.1 yards per catch over four seasons. Maguire averaged 40.2 yards per punt for his career. The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Maguire in the 1960 AFL Draft, and he played four seasons in Southern California, helping the Chargers to an AFL title in 1963. He joined the Buffalo Bills in 1964 and helped the club to AFL titles in 1964 and 1965. Maguire was a two-time AFL All-Star and led the league in punting three times. He averaged 41.7 yards per punt for his career and picked off nine passes while playing linebacker. Following his playing career, Maguire embarked on a long and successful stint as a color analyst for NBC and ESPN, rising to a position on NBC's top NFL broadcast team in the mid-1990s. McKillop stands atop a long and talented list of coaches to patrol the sidelines of the Southern Conference's storied history in men's basketball. From 1992 to 2014, he led the Davidson Wildcats to an impressive 447 wins, seven NCAA Tournament appearances, seven SoCon Tournament championships, and 11 SoCon regular season titles. McKillop's 447 wins are the most in conference history, with no other coach reaching 300 wins. Davidson's second regular season title in three seasons led to its first NCAA Tournament berth under McKillop in 1998 – the school's first appearance in the Big Dance since 1986. McKillop led his team to another NCAA bid in 2002 and had a stretch of three consecutive seasons with NCAA appearances from 2006 to 2008. His Wildcats were a perfect 20-0 in the regular season in 2007-08 and rolled through the SoCon Championship in North Charleston by an average of 26.3 points per win. Led by SoCon Hall of Famer Steph Curry, the Wildcats went on a historic run in the Big Dance, beating Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Wisconsin to reach the Elite Eight in Detroit. The Wildcats lost 59-57 to eventual national champion Kansas, tying the school's deepest advancement ever in the tournament, and first Elite Eight appearance since 1969. The 2008 Wildcats finished with a No. 9 final national ranking. McKillop led Davidson to NCAA appearances again in 2012 and 2013 following SoCon titles. His teams posted 12 seasons with at least 20 wins, and McKillop was named SoCon Coach of the Year by his peers eight times and Coach of the Year by the league's media pool six times. He was also named the 2008 NABC National Coach of the Year. His 22 seasons coaching in the SoCon ranks second all-time and mark the longest tenure since 1947. Smith Carson starred on the hardwood for Furman, then made her mark as a successful head coach with the Paladins after playing professionally in Belgium and Israel. She remains the only person in Southern Conference history to be named both Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in either men's or women's basketball. Carson earned All-SoCon honors three times as a player, was named the conference's Player of the Week 12 times, and earned SoCon Player of the Year in both 1998 and 1999. She led the SoCon in scoring as a sophomore and junior and topped the SoCon's rebounding list in each of her final three seasons. Her school and conference records for made free throws in a single season (212) and career (724) still stand. Carson recorded 52 career double-doubles, 1,920 points, and 1,057 rebounds over four seasons in Greenville, and her senior season finished in style – with a SoCon Tournament title and an appearance in the 2000 NCAA Tournament. Carson won 205 games as the program's head coach, with six seasons of 18 wins or more to her credit. She was named SoCon Coach of the Year following the 2013-14 season, which saw her Paladins finish second in the regular season standings and earn a trip to the WNIT. Carson has served as Senior Vice President of Women's Basketball for the Atlantic Coast Conference since 2023. She was named to the Southern Conference's 100th Anniversary Team in 2021. Usiyan finished his career at App State as the most prolific scorer in NCAA Division I men's soccer history. Nearly 45 years later, he remains atop that list. A native of Effurun, Nigeria, Usiyan was sensational for the Mountaineers, registering NCAA Division I and SoCon career records with 255 points, 109 goals, and 6.35 points per match – 25 points and 19 goals more than the next closest scorer. His 1980 season established single-season marks for NCAA Division I and the SoCon in points (108), goals (46), points per match (6.35), and goals per match (2.71), which remain unbroken to this day. A testament to his dominance, Usiyan is listed in the current edition of the NCAA Men's Soccer Record Book 22 times. His second-best single-season marks for points per match (6.00) and goals per match (2.52) also rank second in NCAA Division I history. One of his most electric performances came on November 15, 1978, in the NCAA Tournament, when he blitzed George Washington for an NCAA Division I postseason record 15 points on seven goals and an assist. App State won that match 9-3, advancing to face eventual College Cup participant Clemson in the second round, falling to the Tigers 2-1 in an overtime thriller. Usiyan was named SoCon Player of the Year three times and led App State to a stellar 44-6-3 overall record, which included a 25-0 mark in SoCon regular-season play and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He was named to the Southern Conference's 100th Anniversary Team in 2021. Following his college career, Usiyan spent 14 seasons playing professionally in the United States, both indoor and outdoor. He was named MVP of the MISL in 1992 with the San Diego Sockers, leading the team to a 26-win season and a league championship. Before his time at App State, Usiyan earned a spot on Nigeria's national team roster to play in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, but the country joined 29 other nations in boycotting those games. He was considered a top striker for the Nigerian National Team and scored five career goals in eight international matches played with the Green Eagles. Usiyan passed away on August 31, 2021, at the age of 65 in La Mesa, Calif. The 2007 App State Mountaineers captured the national football spotlight early in 2007, marching into Ann Arbor, Mich., and stunning the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines 34-32 in front of 109,218 fans in the Big House. By September 10, speedster Dexter Jackson was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, and the Mountaineers were heavy favorites to win a third-straight NCAA Division I-AA National Championship. Hall of Fame Coach Jerry Moore's team did just that, rallying in late October to begin an eight-game win streak with a 34-27 road win at Furman. Wins over Western Carolina and Chattanooga closed out the regular season, and two thrilling wins in the playoffs over James Madison (28-27) and Eastern Washington (38-35) vaulted the Mountaineers into the semifinals. They had little trouble from there, dominating Richmond (55-35) to reach the finals and steamrolling Delaware 49-21 in Chattanooga's Finley Stadium to cap a three-peat. The Mountaineers became the first program in NCAA Division I-AA history to win three consecutive national titles. The third straight title also marked the first time a Division I program had won three consecutive national titles since Army in 1944, 1945, and 1946. Guard Kerry Brown, defensive tackle Anthony Williams, linebacker Pierre Banks, safety Corey Lynch, quarterback Armanti Edwards, kicker Julian Rauch, running back Kevin Richardson, guard John Holt, center Scott Suttle, defensive end Gary Tharrington, and corner Jerome Touchstone were named to the Sports Network I-AA All-America Team, giving App State a record 11 selections in 2007. Receivers Hans Batichon and Dexter Jackson, linebackers Jacque Roman and D.J. Smith, and defensive end Tony Robertson earned honorable mention All-America honors from TSN. App State defeated six nationally ranked teams during the 2007 season and averaged a healthy 41.3 points per game offensively. The 2007 Mountaineers had success beyond the college ranks, with eight members going on to appear on NFL rosters. The conference's Executive Committee approved the creation of a Hall of Fame in 2008, with the first class inducted on May 4, 2009, in Spartanburg, S.C. With the most recent class, the Hall of Fame includes 64 individual members and one team.  Current and former members submit nominations, which an internal committee vets before creating a final ballot. A panel consisting of representation from each current SoCon member institution and a group of voters with historical ties to the league determines the final class. The SoCon Fan Vote, introduced in 2024, is also part of the selection process. </div>

 </a> (Fayetteville, GA / Sandy Creek HS) factored heavily in Mercer’s road win at ETSU on Saturday, which vaulted the Bears into a tie for first place in the SoCon regular season standings with two league matches remaining. Bannister scored the game winner in Johnson City, rising over an ETSU defender for a successful header in the 89th minute of a 3-2 victory. The left back also tallied an assist in the 15th minute on an Ehi Aimiuwu goal that leveled the match early on. Bannister played all 90 minutes in the win and has started 13 matches for Mercer in his first campaign with the program.  </a> (Tokyo, Japan / Teikyo Third) led No. 18 UNC Greensboro to a 1-0-1 week and was critical on the defensive end of a 1-1 draw at No. 5 Virginia last Tuesday evening. He bolstered a Spartans’ defense that played a man down after a red card in the 82nd minute, helping to preserve another strong result against a Top 10 foe. In Saturday night’s 3-0 win over Wofford, Fritz found the back of the net off a penalty kick in the 64th minute for his first goal of the season. His effort on defense limited the Terriers to only one shot – and no shots on goal – over 90 minutes. Fritz has played in all 14 matches for the Spartans this season, logging 13 starts. Mercer (4-7-3, 2-0-1 SoCon) steps out of conference play this week to host Jacksonville on Tuesday, before welcoming VMI to Macon on Saturday afternoon. Hernandez finished the week with six points, dropping off a pair of assists to complement his scoring. He found the net in the 82nd minute of a 3-2 non-conference affair with Presbyterian last Tuesday night, then had two first-half assists and a 70th-minute penalty kick that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 win over ETSU on Saturday evening. A midseason watch list member for the prestigious Hermann Trophy, Hernandez leads the SoCon and ranks No. 10 nationally with 21 points so far this season. Hernandez also ranks in the top 15 nationally in game-winning goals (3), total assists (7), and points per game (1.62).  </a> (Frisco, TX / Lone Star HS) lived up to his All-SoCon billing last week, keying No. 19 UNC Greensboro to a comfortable, 2-0 win over No. 5 High Point in a key regional non-conference battle. He registered a season-best five saves in that win and followed with another 90 minutes of scoreless soccer in a 2-0 league win over VMI. He and the Spartans’ defense have recorded three shutouts in the past four games. For his efforts, Wilson was also named College Soccer News National Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday. Wilson has played 1,080 minutes between the posts this season, recording 18 saves with eight victories and three clean sheets. Furman (8-1-4, 1-0-1 SoCon) is back on the road this week, traveling to face VMI at 3:00 Saturday afternoon. UNC Greensboro (8-2-2, 1-1-0 SoCon) has another nationally relevant opportunity in store on Tuesday night, traveling to face No. 8 Virginia at 7:00. The Spartans will swing back into SoCon play at home on Saturday, hosting Wofford for Homecoming at 7:00. <div class="payload-richtext">SPARTANBURG, S.C. ­– UNC Greensboro forward Enzo Dovlo and Furman midfielder Diego Hernandez were both named to the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, awarded annually to the top player in college soccer by the Missouri Athletic Club. The Hermann Trophy originated in 1967. <a href="https://uncgspartans.com/sports/mens-soccer/roster/enzo-dovlo/5898">

 </a> (Paris, France / Sainte Anne) flourished early in his junior season with five goals and one assist in the first two matches and continues to play a key role for the No. 23 Spartans (7-2-2 overall). He netted a pair of assists in a win over No. 5 High Point on Wednesday night, pushing his SoCon-leading points total to 20 through 11 matches.  </a> (Mesquite, Texas / Lone Star HS) has powered the No. 16 Paladins to a 7-1-4 record (0-0-1 SoCon) this season against a challenging non-conference schedule, which includes three draws and one win over squads ranked in the national top 10 at the time. Hernandez has six goals and five assists through 12 matches this season. Two of the junior’s goals have been game winners. Hernandez ranks third in the SoCon in points scored and 17th nationally in 2025. The Hermann Trophy midseason watch list will be trimmed down to 15 semifinalists on December 9. Furman hosts ETSU on Saturday for Senior Night, and UNC Greensboro hosts VMI.  The Paladins and Spartans will meet on October 25 in Greenville, S.C., at 7:00 pm., in the penultimate match of the SoCon regular season.</div>
