Tuesday's men's golf roundup

Samford Men’s Golf Places Fourth At Arkansas State Invitational

The Samford men's golf team placed fourth at the Arkansas State Spring Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Ridge Point Country Club (Par 72).
 
Samford finished with a three-round score of 867 (288-297-282) to finish fourth in the 10-team field. The host school, Arkansas State, won the event, with a final score of 828 (275-277-276).
 
Samford was led individually by Gavin Isbell, who finished fifth in the 60-player field with a six-under-par 210 (69-74-67). Damin Strydom tied for 11th with a three-round score of 216 (77-71-68), while Matthew Smith finished 18th at 219 (70-76-73).

Chattanooga Eyes Final 18 at Western Intercollegiate

The Chattanooga Mocs are 12th after 36 holes at the Western Intercollegiate. The Mocs turned in 373 Tuesday at Pasatiempo Golf Club. The squad's 735 is nine behind host San Jose State in 11th tied with Hawaii in 12th with a total of 736.
 
Dalton Chuba led the way with 72. Carson Johnson added 73 to the tally with 75 coming from Ethan Whitaker and 76 by Camden Braidech. Braedon Wear and Garrett Engle both posted 77.
 
No 22 Pepperdine surged into the lead overall with 694. That's two better than No. 18 San Diego State in second and three ahead of No. 21 Arizona in third. The Wildcats' Filip Jakubcik is the individual leader with 9-under 131.
