SoCon Announces Men’s Golfer of the Week
UNCG’s Boyce Leads Spartans to 2026 Bryan National Collegiate Team Title
SPARTANBURG, SC – UNC Greensboro graduate student B.J. Boyce was named SoCon Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played between September 9-15.
Boyce (Fort Bragg, NC) tied for second at the 2026 Bryan National Collegiate tournament in Browns Summit, NC, shooting 10-under par to finish three strokes off the individual lead. His efforts helped the Spartans win the team title in dominant fashion, beating the field by 19 strokes. Boyce led the pack after the first day after shooting a 67, then followed with rounds of 68 and 71.
His scoring average beat the tournament field by an average of five strokes for the tournament, bolstered by a tournament-best three eagles and 12-under par scoring on the course’s Par 5 holes.
UNCG shot 12-under par as a team in the opening round to take control of the tournament and led wire-to-wire. The Spartans will play in the 2026 Rod Myers Invitational in Durham, NC, on September 21-22.
