Chattanooga Extends Lead on Day Two at Solina Golf Club

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Chattanooga extended its lead to 11 strokes on Tuesday at the 2026 SoCon Men’s Golf Championship and enters the final day with a strong chance at its first team title since 2013.

Mercer’s Nathan Trodd shot even par Tuesday to ease into sole possession of the individual lead, with teammate Henry Robards carding a low round of 66 – tying the course record – to move into a tie for third. Chattanooga’s Evan Rogers sits in second place heading into Wednesday’s final round at 4-under par, just on stroke back of the lead. UNC Greensboro’s Kelvin Hernandez is two strokes back in a tie with Robards in third place.

Furman moved into second place with a seven-stroke improvement from the first round, with Western Carolina just one shot behind in third. Mercer (+10), UNC Greensboro (+11), ETSU (+13), Wofford (+18), and Samford (+20) rounded out the field.

After an opening round that saw 14 different golfers finish under par, Tuesday’s round saw only four men under par – Rogers (70), Wofford’s Will Jones (70), Western Carolina ace Tyler Jones (69), and Robards (66). Rogers is the lone golfer in the field to finish under par in both rounds.

The second round was halted early by lightning in the area, resulting in a 51-minute delay. Once the teams made their way back onto the course, play resumed under mostly cloudy, and slightly windy conditions with spotty showers into the late morning.

The expectation of poor weather early Wednesday morning resulted in an adjustment to tee times, with a 10:30 start on tap.
