SoCon Announces Men's Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – Western Carolina redshirt sophomore Tyler Jones was named Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for events played between February 11-February 17.

Jones (Jacksonville, NC / Jacksonville HS) finished second at the 2026 Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, SC, leading the Catamounts to a third-place team finish. Jones shot under par in all three rounds and closed to within one shot of medalist honors by the end of action Tuesday. He shot a 208 for the tournament (70-67-71-208) and closed with 11 pars in a row on Tuesday. He finished with 10 birdies and one eagle on the 6,884-yard Wexford Golf Club course. Jones has been named SoCon Golfer of the Week three times this season, including twice so far this spring. He has four top-3 finishes in his first season with the Catamounts.
