SoCon Announces Men's Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, SC – Furman senior Harris Barth was named SoCon Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played October 1 to October 8, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Barth (Atlanta, GA / Westminster School) earned his second SoCon honor in the past three weeks after finishing in a tie for sixth at the 2025 Trinity Forest Invitational hosted by SMU. The tournament was played at the 7,167-yard (Par 72) Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.

Barth shot a three-round score of 207, carding a 71 in the opening round, and back-to-back rounds of 68 to finish strong. He was steady in the second round with six birdies and caught fire in the final round with eight birdies – including five on the front nine. Barth finished only five strokes off the lead and one stroke out of fifth place. He beat the third-round scoring average for the field by nearly five strokes.

He recorded 17 birdies for the tournament, which ranked sixth among all golfers. His efforts helped Furman finish seventh in the team standings, just three strokes behind Baylor.

The Paladins will play again on October 13-14 at the Everett Buick GMC Classic in Little Rock AR.
