Furman’s Johanning Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

Offensive Guard holds a 3.53 GPA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman offensive guard Jacob Johanning has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Nov. 29 - Dec. 5.  The selection is made by the conference office.

Johanning, a member of the all-conference first team and Jacobs Blocking Award winner, headed up a productive Furman ground game that produced 191 yards in the Paladins' 26-7 FCS second round playoff victory over Chattanooga. The Simpsonville, South Carolina, native registered 76 play participation for an offense that added 192 passing yards for 383 total yards on offense against the Mocs to advance to the playoff quarterfinals.

The redshirt senior is pursuing a degree in Business administration and hold a 3.53 GPA.
