The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell 8-6 in a weekend series opener against the Western Carolina (WCU) Catamounts in The Southern Conference (SoCon) on Thursday night at UNCG Baseball Stadium. With two conference games left in the regular season, UNCG is now 8-11 in league play for seventh in the SoCon while WCU improved to 9-10 and now sit alone in fifth.

Bulldogs Fall In Pitchers’ Duel At Mercer, 2-1
The Samford University baseball team dropped a hard-fought pitchers' duel in the first game of its three-game series at Mercer, 2-1, Thursday evening at Ortho Park. With the loss, Samford fell to 27-24 overall and 12-7 in Southern Conference play. Mercer improved its record to 32-22 overall and 11-8 in SoCon games.
Strong Outing From Floyd Leads Bulldogs to 7-3 Victory Over ETSU

The Citadel's victory over ETSU marks the first time since 2013 that the Bulldogs completed a season without being swept on the weekend. Matthew Lively highlighted the Bulldogs' offense, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.

The ETSU baseball team dropped the opening game of its series at The Citadel on Thursday afternoon by a score of 7-3. Thursday's loss moves ETSU's overall record to 37-14 and moves its SoCon record to 13-6. Seven of the nine hitters in ETSU's starting lineup tallied at least one hit in the contest.

Baseball Claims Series Over VMI with 7-6 Win
Despite a late push by VMI, the Wofford baseball team remained steadfast Thursday evening, scoring two in the eighth to flip the script and secure a 7-6 win at Russell C. King Field. The Terriers improve to 31-24 (8-12 SoCon) as the Keydets drop to 26-25 (5-15 SoCon). Wofford has clinched the series.
Keydets’ eighth inning surge not enough in Thursday’s loss
VMI Baseball suffered its second-straight one-run loss against Wofford at Russell C. King Field Thursday evening. The Keydets (26-25, 5-15 SoCon) took the lead after a four-run eighth inning, but the Terriers rebounded with a pair of runs to recapture the lead and seal the game. With the loss, VMI is set as the eighth seed in the upcoming Southern Conference Championship.
