ETSU’s Brackett named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week
Redshirt Sophomore kicked a career long 70-yard punt, holds a 3.6 GPA
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU punter Nate Brackett has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Sept 6-12. The selection is made by the conference office.
Brackett led the special teams for the Bucs on their way to a 42-0 victory over Carson-Newman with six punts totaling 305 yards. The Rockwood, Tennessee, native booted a career-long 70-yard punt that pinned the Eagles down at the 3-yard line in the second quarter.
The sophomore’s 70-yard punt tied for the fourth-longest punt by an FCS player this season. Brackett additionally kicked a 51 and 55-yard punt, bringing his average to 50.8 yards per punt for the game.
A rehabilitative health sciences major with a minor in nutrition, Brackett holds a 3.60 GPA.
