Marc Rabb named Associate Commissioner for Championships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has named Marc Rabb its Associate Commissioner for Championships, effective today.

Rabb comes to the SoCon after serving as the Creative Services Manager at OTO Development. He also served as the PR/Corporate Communications Coordinator during his tenure at OTO.

"I am thrilled to join the Southern Conference family and look forward to building strong relationships throughout the league," Rabb said. "The opportunity to return to college athletics is exciting, and I value the rich tradition and the innovative future of the SoCon. Learning and growing for the past 18 months in a successful corporate setting was a terrific experience, but I am ready to dive into this new role."

Prior to OTO, Rabb spent 23 years at Gardner-Webb as the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications. He served as the official spokesperson of the Bulldogs’ athletic department along with heading the sports information staff, social media strategies and branding. Rabb was inducted into the Gardner-Webb University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023 as a Chuck Burch Meritorious Service Award Recipient.

Rabb received his bachelor’s from Pfeiffer in 1995 as a double major in Communications and English/Writing Studies. He was a member of the men’s lacrosse team during his time as an undergraduate, being named the squad’s most improved player in 1994. Rabb earned his master’s degree in physical education at Gardner-Webb in 1997.

"Marc Rabb's passion and deep understanding of college athletics makes him an outstanding fit as our Associate Commissioner for Championships,” SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross said. “His demonstrated creativity, problem solving skills, work ethic, and ability to build strong relationships with coaches across twenty championship sports is truly notable. We welcome him to the SoCon and look forward to seeing our championships grow and flourish under his leadership."
