The Southern Conference Announces Staff Promotions For 2026-27

SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference announced several staff promotions and adjustments in titles for the 2026-2027 academic year on Thursday morning.

In addition to longtime administrator Geoff Cabe being named interim commissioner earlier in the week, the SoCon elevated Doug King and Jordan Trolinger to Senior Associate Commissioners in their respective areas of responsibilities.

King, who has been with the league office since 2003, will continue to head the SoCon’s compliance and governance efforts. Trolinger is in her second stint with the SoCon and will continue to lead all external efforts related to revenue generation, sponsorship, marketing, promotions, and special events.

Molly Bachand was promoted to Associate Commissioner for Finance and Internal Operations. Bachand joined the SoCon in 2025 and remains in charge of a wide range of duties ranging from business operations, logistics, and human resources.

Marc Rabb (Assistant Commissioner for Communications), La J’ai Reed (Director of External Operations and Marketing), Caroline Reese (Assistant Commissioner for Sports Administration), and Ralan Wardlaw (Assistant Commissioner for Communications) were elevated in the latest round of staff adjustments.

“We are proud of the progress our staff has made collectively over the past year and these promotions and adjustments are well deserved,” said Cabe. “Each of the individuals in our office take great pride in serving our member institutions and meeting their needs on a daily basis.”
