SoCon Announces 2026-27 Women’s Basketball League Schedule
Conference play tips off Tuesday, Dec. 29
SPARTANBURG, S.C.– Thanks to support from Ingles Markets, the Southern Conference officially released its women’s basketball league schedule Tuesday afternoon.
The SoCon’s nine women’s basketball teams will all play double-round-robin, 16-game intraleague schedules, totaling 72 league contests. Conference play begins on Tuesday, Dec. 29, with eight of nine squads in action. The regular season concludes with four conference showdowns on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Chattanooga, ETSU, and Wofford each claimed a share of the 2025-26 regular‑season conference crown. Samford completed a three-day sweep of the SoCon regular-season co-champions to claim the tournament title under first-year head coach Matt Wise.
The SoCon welcomes Tennessee Tech for their inaugural season in the league this year. Led by 11th year head coach Kim Rosamond, the team is coming off a 15-14 campaign, after claiming the OVC regular-season and championship titles in 2024-25.
The expanded Ingles SoCon Basketball Championships will feature all nine programs. It begins Wednesday, March 3, with a first-round matchup between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds at 6 p.m. ET at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville. The winner advances to Thursday’s quarterfinals, joining the top seven seeds in four games beginning at 11 a.m. Friday’s semifinals are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the championship game set for noon on Sunday and airing on ESPNU.
The 44th season of Southern Conference women’s basketball opens Monday, Nov. 2.
