SPARTANBURG, SC – The Southern Conference announced its 2025-26 Academic All-SoCon Teams for both the fall and spring semesters on Wednesday afternoon, with more than 1,000 total honorees.
The fall Academic All-SoCon team had 394 members, with the spring team – combining winter and spring sports – had 629 student-athletes honored. The SoCon Academic All-Conference teams include student-athletes who compile a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and participate in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests in a varsity sport sponsored by the Southern Conference. Student-athletes must have at least three semesters of class work at a SoCon institution under their belt to be eligible.
Western Carolina led the way with 121 combined student-athletes, including a league-high 83 for the spring semester. Wofford (118) was close behind in second, followed by Samford (116), ETSU (111), and Chattanooga (110).
There were 72 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA on the fall and spring teams combined. Mercer with 12 student-athletes on the list with a 4.0 GPA, followed by Samford (10) and Chattanooga (10).
The SoCon's Academic Honor Roll will be released on July 13.
