SoCon announces Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

SoCon performers deliver another strong week of spring competition

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Bradley Franklin and Bryce Davis have been named this week’s men’s outdoor track and field athletes of the week, respectively. Furman’s Annie Miller and Samford’s Lindsey Havens have been selected as the women’s outdoor track and field athletes of the week, the conference office announced Wednesday. 

Havens cleared an outdoor personal best of 3.93m at the Crimson Tide Invitational, leading the conference by 10 inches in the pole vault. 

Miller placed first overall in the 3,000‑meter steeplechase at the Duke Invitational. Her time of 10:13.12 leads the SoCon, ranks seventh in the NCAA East, and 20th nationally. 

Davis recorded a personal best throw of 55.67m to take the conference lead and finish seventh at the Crimson Tide Invitational. 

Franklin ran 13.58 into a 1.3 headwind at the Alabama Invite to win the men’s 110‑meter hurdles. He also posted a conference leading 21.06 in the 200 meters. 

The Bulldogs will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, for the Georgia Tech Invitational on April 17–18, while the Paladins compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 17 in Azusa, California.
