About the Championship The 2013 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship took place on Friday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 10, in Spartanburg, S.C. The 20th annual championship was held at Snyder Field on the campus of Wofford College. The quarterfinals (first round) were hosted by the top four seeds on Sunday, Nov. 3. Those games determined who advanced to the semifinals in Spartanburg, S.C. No. 1 seed Furman got a pair of unassisted goals late in regulation to take a 3-1 win over No. 2 seed Elon in the title match of the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Championship at Wofford’s Snyder Field on Sunday. With the win, the Paladins earned the SoCon’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The Furman women’s soccer team made its sixth trip to the NCAA postseason when it took on ninth-ranked South Carolina in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship on Friday at 7 p.m. in Columbia, S.C.
