Bio
Terry Holland had stints as a player, coach and athletic director at Davidson, competing as a player from 1961-64 and coaching from 1969-74. He served as Davidson’s Athletic Director from 1990-94.
During his playing days, Holland scored over 1,000 points. He led the SoCon in field-goal percentage in the 1963-64 season (63.1%) and was a second-team all-conference selection in 1964 during a season that saw the Wildcats achieve a Top 10 ranking. His jersey was retired at Davidson in 2022.
Holland served as an assistant coach to SoCon Hall of Famer Lefty Driesell for five years before taking over in 1969. In his five seasons at the helm, Holland was named SoCon Coach of the Year three times (1970-72) and led the Wildcats to an NCAA and NIT Tournament berth.
After spending 16 years at Virginia, the Clinton, North Carolina, native returned to his alma mater to become the athletic director. He oversaw Davidson’s re-entry into the SoCon in 1992 and helped bring the NCAA Soccer Championship to the school.
