SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Natalie Srinivasan has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Sept. 11-17.
Srinivasan shot a 5-under-par 211 to win the inaugural Glass City Invitational at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. The Spartanburg, South Carolina, native opened with a 2-under 70 in each of the first two rounds to give her a one-stroke lead heading into the final round. After a slow start in the final round, Srinivasan birdied four of her final eight holes to shoot a 1-under 71 and take the four-stroke victory. The win marked the second career victory for Srinivasan, who was named a preseason All-American by Golfweek.
Srinivasan helped the Paladins to a sixth-place finish in the 13-team field, which included four teams that finished in the top 25 of last spring’s Golfstat rankings.
The weekly award is Srinivasan’s third of her career.
Furman returns to action on Sept. 27, when it will look to defend last year's title at the 2019 Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, South Carolina.
Also nominated: Maddy McDanel (Chattanooga), Tereza Melecka (ETSU) and Kristine Torralba (Wofford).
