SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Jacqueline Bendrick has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 27-April 2. The selection is made by the league office.
The Mercer Island, Washington, native finished in a tie for eighth to lead the 20th ranked Paladins at the PING/ASU Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona, this past week against a strong field. She recorded a 71 with four birdies in the first round, then added a 74 with an additional four birdies in the second round. The senior fired a 4-under 68 in the final round, recording five birdies to pace the Paladins. Furman finished seventh out of 14 teams.
The Paladins turn their attention to the Southern Conference Championship, slated for April 14-16 in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Also nominated: Monica San Juan (Chattanooga), Carol Pyon (Mercer), Madeline Davis (Samford) and Tara Bettle (UNCG).
