SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Emily Uhland has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 13-19. The selection is made by the league office and is her second selection of the season.

The senior earned her first collegiate win, claiming individual medalist honors at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, Sunday through Tuesday, to claim first in the 73-individual, 18-team field. She shot an even-par 71 in the first round, one-under-par (70) in the second round and a 74 in the final round to claim the victory. The win was the first for a Samford golfer since 2014.

The Bulldogs turn their attention to the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tennessee, March 17-19.

Also nominated: Natalie Srinivasan (Furman), Mary Jinga (Mercer), Natalia Asensio (UNCG), Amy Wooten (Western Carolina) and Becca Earl (Wofford).
