SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga guard Lakelyn Bouldin has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 15-21. The award is selected by the league office.

Bouldin helped the Mocs to a 2-0 week and averaged a double-double with 18.5 points and 10.0 rebounds. Chattanooga downed Wofford 89-82 on Jan. 17 before beating Furman 73-53 two days later. With the wins, Chattanooga joins Mercer atop the conference at 3-0.

Against Wofford, the junior played all 40 minutes and earned her first career double-double, finishing with a season-high 26 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. She added five assists and a block in the win. During the first quarter, the Spencer, Tennessee, native surpassed 900 points as a Moc.

In the win over Furman, Bouldin was just shy of her second career double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down eight rebounds. She dished out two assists and tallied a career-high two blocks. She went 2-2 from the free-throw line in the contest and is shooting 87 percent on the season, a league best.

In conference play, Bouldin is in the top five in scoring, rebounding, free-throw percentage, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds and minutes played.

Bouldin and the Mocs (8-10, 3-0) head on the road to face Mercer (11-7, 3-0) on Jan. 24 and Samford (6-12, 1-2) on Jan. 26.
