SUGAR GROVE, Ill. – The second round of the play at the 2017 NCAA Championship at the par-72, 6,343-yard Rich Harvest Farms has been cancelled due to inclement weather in the Sugar Grove area.

Ninth-ranked Furman was due to tee off at 8:36 a.m. CT, but tee times were initially delayed an hour due to approaching storms. After a lengthy delay due to lightning, the NCAA golf committee made the decision to cancel Saturday's play in order to maintain equal conditions for all teams.

Teams will now tee off on Sunday using Saturday's scheduled tee times, but the teams will play with Sunday's scheduled hole locations, since BYU's Alex White, who is playing as an individual, played her Sunday round on Thursday due to NCAA religious accommodations.

The Paladins, who will tee off of No. 1 at 8:36 a.m. CT on Sunday, are part of a 24-team field that is playing under the NCAA Championship's revised format, which was instituted in 2015. The teams were scheduled to play 54 holes of stroke play over the course of three days, beginning Friday and continuing through Sunday. Because of Saturday's cancellation, the teams will now play 54 holes ending on Monday, and the top eight teams at the end of Monday's round will move into the match-play single elimination bracket. Tuesday will feature the quarterfinals and semifinals, and the finals will be played Wednesday afternoon.
