DADE CITY, Fla. – The Samford women’s golf team is in fifth place out of 13 teams after the first two rounds of the Spring Break Shootout, hosted by Western Kentucky and Southern Mississippi, Monday at Lake Jovita Golf Club (par-72, 6,325 yards).
Samford sat in a tie for first place after the first round, firing a 295. The Bulldogs then fired a round of 308 in round two to place fifth with a two-round score of 603. Southern Mississippi and Boston College are tied for first place heading into Tuesday’s final round, both with a score of 590.
Individually for Samford, Madeline Davis is tied for sixth place in the 77-player field with a two-round score of 147 (72-75). Haley Harrington (80-73) and Emily Uhland (73-80) are both tied for 23rd with identical scores of 153.
Anna Buchanan ended the second round in 33rd place with a two-round score of 155 (74-81). Hallianne Hobson is tied for 34th at 156 (76-80) after the first two rounds.
Southern Mississippi’s Nichada Satasuk currently leads the tournament with a score of 142 (72-70). Georgina Blackman from Western Kentucky is in second place with a score of 143 (73-70).
The teams will conclude the tournament with a final round Tuesday. The round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. (CT).
