SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern’s Anna Claire Knight has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while teammate Angel McGowan was selected as the CRONS Freshman of the Week for the week of Feb. 18, the league office announced Tuesday.

Knight was selected as Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 31 points and pulling down nine rebounds to lead the Eagles past Davidson on Saturday, 90-82. The junior from Dublin, Ga., hit 9-of-17 shots from the field and added three assists and three blocks to help GSU knock off the second-place Wildcats.
