SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Brittany Hodges has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while UNCG’s Bailey Williams was selected as the CRONS Freshman of the Week for the week of Feb. 11, the league office announced Tuesday.

Hodges was selected as Player of the Week after she scored a career-high 32 points and hauled in 17 rebounds to lead Furman to an 80-72 victory over Wofford on Saturday. The senior forward connected on 12-of-16 shots from the field and hit 8-of-11 free throw attempts to post the highest-scoring game by a Paladin since 2009.

Williams averaged 15 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists to earn CRONS Freshman of the Week honors. She tallied a team-high 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and added four assists in the Spartans’ 75-66 overtime loss to Davidson on Saturday. Williams added another 15-point performance in UNCG’s win over Georgia Southern on Monday, also dishing out five assists and grabbing two steals. She finished the week shooting 35.7 percent from 3-point range and hit 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Also nominated for Player of the Week were Davidson’s Dakota Dukes, Elon’s Zora Stephenson, Georgia Southern’s Anna Claire Knight, UNCG’s Lucy Mason, Samford’s Christy Robinson and Wofford’s Chanel Stokes.

Also nominated for CRONS Freshman of the Week were Elon’s Jennifer Rhodes, Georgia Southern’s Angel McGowan and Samford’s Hannah Nichols.
