SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU guard Shamauria Bridges has been named the SoCon Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Western Carolina forward Sherae Bonner has been named the CRONS Freshman of the Week for games of Nov. 14-17, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Bridges averaged 18.5 points in the Bucs’ two wins to open the season. The sophomore guard totaled 15 points in the season-opening win over UNC Asheville on Friday. She followed that performance with a career-high 22 points, including four three-pointers, as ETSU defeated High Point, 84-76, on Monday night. Bridges is shooting .452 from the field to start the season and has made seven three-point field goals to date.

Bonner got her collegiate career off to a terrific start, averaging 16.5 points and 19.5 rebounds per game with two double-doubles in the Catamounts’ first two games of the season. The rookie forward opened the season with 16 points and 13 rebounds against NC Central on Friday. She then tied the Western Carolina school record for rebounds in a game with 26 on Monday against Livingstone, in addition to scoring 17 points. Bonner was 11-for-22 from the field for a .500 shooting percentage over the two games.
