SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga forward Taylor Hall has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Elon’s Jennifer Rhodes was selected as the CRONS Freshman of the Week for the week of Nov. 19, the league office announced Tuesday.

Hall earns Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week and for the fourth time in her career. The New Tazwell, Tenn., native averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.5 steals in two games last week. In the Lady Mocs’ 80-56 loss to No. 4 Tennessee, Hall put up 12 points and eight boards while dishing out four assists to lead UTC. The senior forward then posted 17 points, hauled in nine rebounds and dropped five assists while playing all 40 minutes in Chattanooga’s 76-65 win over Belmont. Hall is currently fourth in the SoCon in scoring at 17.7 points per game, third in assists with 4.3 per game and second in steals at 3.0 per contest.

Rhodes was selected as the CRONS Freshman of the Week after averaging 8.5 points and rebounds per game in two Elon contests last week. In her collegiate debut against UNCW, the freshman recorded her first career double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in a 75-64 win. She followed that with a nine-rebound performance against VCU.

Also nominated for Player of the Week were: Appalachian State’s Maryah Sydnor, Elon’s Kelsey Harris, Georgia Southern’s Briana Jones, Samford’s Hannah Nichols and Wofford’s Lauren Kirby.

Also nominated for CRONS Freshman of the Week were: Appalachian State’s Joi Jones, Georgia Southern’s Angel McGowan, Samford’s Hannah Nichols and Western Carolina’s Brianne Mack.
