The 2012 Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship took place on Thursday, Nov. 8, & Saturday, Nov. 10, in Cary, N.C. The event was held at the WakeMed Soccer Park. This was the 25^th annual Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship. The Quarterfinals (First Round) were hosted by the top four seeds on Saturday (or Sunday) Nov. 3 (or 4) and the winners advanced to the Semifinals in Cary, N.C.

This year, tournament Most Outstanding Player Gabe Latigue scored on a direct free kick for the game-winner in the 75th minute as top-seeded Elon downed No. 7 seed Wofford 2-1 in the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Championship title game at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday night. With its second straight title, the 23rd-ranked Phoenix claimed the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.
