Cougars Explode Over Savannah State

The College of Charleston got the 2004 season off to an explosive start with a two game sweep over Savannah State. The Cougars took the first game 33-0 and the second game 42-0.

Rachel Stern and Natalie Smith teamed for a no-hitter in the first game. Not to be outdone, Candice Wilburn pitched a perfect game in the second game to complete the sweep.

Melissa Wiegel hit three homeruns to lead the Cougar offensive attack. The Cougars improve to 2-0 for the season.

The Cougars take on Winthrop on Sunday at 10:00 am in Rock Hill, SC.
