SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Clare Coyle has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played on Dec. 30-Jan. 5.
The sophomore delivered 34 total points and 15 rebounds across wins over Brevard and Bob Jones, helping the Paladins close its non-league slate.
Coyle shot 72.7 percent from the field (16-for-22) across the two outings. Against Brevard, she posted her fifth double-double of the season after posting 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Jacksonville, Florida native contributed across the stat sheet with five assists, three blocks, and two steals. Coyle also shot 50 percent from the charity stripe for the week.
Coyle now leads the league in rebounds per game (7.5) and field goal percentage (59.1).
Furman will open conference play on the road in Johnson City, Tennessee to face the ETSU Bucs.
