SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga’s Gianna Corbitt has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played November 18–24.
Corbitt averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 76.5 percent from the field (13-of-17). She connected on 66.7 percent of her three-point attempts (4-of-6) and was perfect from the free-throw line (9-of-9).
Against Austin Peay on Nov. 20, the junior forward scored 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting and added three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She followed with another 18-point effort in Chattanooga’s 64–62 win over Northern Kentucky on Nov. 22, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the floor, including four three-pointers, while contributing five rebounds and five assists.
Corbitt’s efficiency and balanced production are reflected across the stat sheet, as she currently leads the team in rebounds, steals (tied), blocks, and field goal percentage.
The Mocs return to action November 28–29 at the CBU Classic in Riverside, California.
