Hunter Sadlon named Director of Corporate Partnerships

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has named Hunter Sadlon its Director of Corporate Partnerships, effective today.

Sadlon brings a wide variety of experience across multiple business sectors. He has worked heavily in information technology and accounting/finance recruiting, account management for various corporate recruiting firms and has experience in real estate.

“I am genuinely appreciative for the opportunity to join The Southern Conference as the Director of Corporate Partnerships. After playing for Pat Kelsey (at Winthrop) in college, I learned how valuable and rare it is to be a part of Division 1 Athletics and to be a part of something bigger than yourself,” Sadlon said. “The Southern Conference has a tremendous amount of potential, and the vision set by Michael Cross and the team makes it a truly exciting opportunity! There are many young men and women that we can impact through corporate partnerships and sponsors to continue the rich tradition of the SoCon. I have a strong passion for college athletics and what it can provide to both the student athletes and the organizations affiliated to the conference. I am so thankful to join The Southern Conference, and this is the opportunity of a lifetime to do something very special!"

Sadlon worked for multiple corporate enterprise firms in both the recruiting and account management concentrations. His transition into this new role at the SoCon fulfills a life-long goal to work in Division 1 college athletics. He has worked at Wild Dunes Real Estate in Charleston, South Carolina, as a Sales Executive since 2019, and continues to expand his network in the Carolinas and beyond through real estate, recruiting, and his connections across the college landscape.

In addition to his recruiting and management background, Sadlon served as a color commentator for Winthrop men’s basketball for three seasons. During his time at Winthrop, he worked on-air alongside current SoCon Associate Commissioner for Brand Strategy and Broadcast Dave Friedman.

The Cincinnati, Ohio, native played men’s basketball at Winthrop from 2013-17, rising from a walk-on as a freshman to a full scholarship player during his senior season. Sadlon was a team captain for the Eagles during his junior and senior seasons, helping Winthrop to an NCAA Tournament bid as a No. 13 seed in 2017.

"Hunter Sadlon is an incredibly hard working, driven, and high energy person,” SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross said. “Hunter's tenacity, drive and attention to detail will energize our relationships with current corporate partners and identify new partners who want to build their brands through The Southern Conference.  The future is bright with Hunter Sadlon as our Director of Corporate Partnerships and we welcome him to the SoCon."
