Western Carolina’s Lohbauer named SoCon Women’s Golfer of the Week

Junior Won the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina’s Elizabeth Lohbauer has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 27 – April 2. The selection is made by the league office.

Lohbauer carded a 2-over-par 218 (72-77-69) for the tournament, including the lowest round of any golfer during the two-day event, when she shot a 3-under 69 in the final round. The Venice, Florida, native led the Catamounts to their second consecutive Mimosa Hills Invitational title, while claiming her second career individual championship after winning last year's Jackrabbit Invitational in March 2023 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada.

Lohbauer, who was tied for first after Monday's opening 36 holes, carded a blemish-free final 18 holes, finishing with 15 pars and three birdies. The junior led the field in par-4 scoring (4.03) and total pars (40), while completing the tournament with seven birdies.

Following a two-week layoff, Western Carolina will travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina, on April 14-16, for the SoCon Women’s Golf Championship.
