Wofford’s Black Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior third baseman hit three home runs, holds a 3.8 GPA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford Baseball third baseman, Dixon Black, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from March 20-26.  The selection is made by the conference office.
 
Black led the Terriers to a sweep of conference rival, The Citadel, batting .462 with a 1.308 slugging percentage. On Saturday, he clubbed two homers for his third multi home run game of his career and added a triple to log seven RBIs and four runs in the first game. During the second part of the doubleheader, the junior third baseman hit another home run, drove home two more RBIs and scored two runs. In the final game of the series, Black logged two runs on two hits with two RBIs. On the week, he totaled 11 RBIs, eight runs scored, and three home runs with a .600 on-base percentage.
 
The Scranton, Pennsylvania, product is majoring in International Affairs and holds a 3.80 GPA.
