SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern rifle team members Emma Pohlmann, Ella Goldfaden and Zahra Gonzalez Mazo have been named All-Americans by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Associate (CRCA), as announced by the organization late Thursday afternoon. In addition, GSU coaches Soren Butler and Abby Buesseler were named CRCA Head Coach of the Year and Assistant Coach of the Year, respectively.

Pohlmann, a sophomore from Nentershausen, Germany, was named first-team All-America honor in air rifle, second-team in smallbore and second-team in combined (aggregate). She earned SoCon air rifle and smallbore athlete of the year honors and won both individual titles. She qualified for the NCAA Championships in air rifle as an individual and set school records for season smallbore average (587.929), air rifle average (595.200) and season aggregate average (1,182.214).

Gonzalez Mazo and Goldfaden both earned second-team All-America honors in air rifle. Gonzalez Mazo, a freshman from Logroño, Spain, was named first-team All-SoCon in air rifle and was a second-team honoree in smallbore. She averaged 593.786 in air rifle and posted a season-best 597 at Ole Miss. Goldfaden, a freshman from Bat Hefer, Israel, was a first-team all-conference selection in both smallbore and air rifle and averaged 594.357 in air rifle with a season-best of 598, set twice.

Pohlmann was named the SoCon Air Rifle and Smallbore Shooter of the Months for November, January and February, while Goldfaden earned the Air Rifle Shooter of the Month award in October.
