Wofford’s Kahrs named SoCon Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.

Senior went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles play

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Emely Kahrs has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from March 5-11, the conference announced on Tuesday.  The award is selected by the league office.
 
Kahrs went 4-0 this week, picking up two singles wins at the No. 4 position and two doubles wins at the No. 3 position against ETSU and UNC Asheville.
 
In the conference opener against ETSU on March 8, the Oslo, Norway, product paired with Brianna Wilbur and the pair defeated Jana Rovira and Ralitsa Alexandrova, 6-1. Kahrs then defeated Rovira in singles, 6-3, 6-4, to score the Terriers’ lone point in the match.
 
Against UNC Asheville, the senior again paired with Wilbur, beating Avery Sager and Louise Booker, 6-3. In her match against Rosie Dickson, Kahrs won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to give Wofford their first singles point on the way to a 4-3 match victory.

Wofford (9-4, 0-1 SoCon) host Quinnipiac on Wednesday before traveling to Chattanooga for their second conference match.
