SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Rozalie Dohnalova has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Jan. 30-Feb. 5, the conference announced on Tuesday.  The award is selected by the league office.

Dohnalova went 3-0 this week, picking up two singles wins in at the No. 1 position and a No. 1 doubles win in the Mocs’ victories over Northern Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky.

In her match against Northern Kentucky’s Ashlee Fisk on Feb. 3, Dohnalova won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. For doubles, she paired with Alice Hall at the No. 1 position, but their match  went unfinished due to Chattanooga clenching the doubles point on their way to a 7-0 match victory.

The next day, the Mostkovice, Czech Republic, native won the No. 1 singles match again, 6-2, 7-5, this time against Eastern Kentucky’s Masha Fedenko. In doubles, she paired with Hall again and the pair won 6-1 against Fedenko and Zhansaya Bakytzhan.

Chattanooga (4-3) hosts UNC Asheville on Saturday, Feb. 10, before going to Lipscomb on Sunday.
