SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Jada Guinn has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 6-12, after averaging 16.5 points and 9.5 rebounds this week. The award is selected by the league office.

Guinn, who won the award Nov. 28, Dec. 12, and Jan. 30, helped the Mocs claim two road wins, increasing Chattanooga’s active win streak to 10 games. During a 55-39 win at Samford on Feb. 8, Guinn tied for the game high in points with 12, while pulling down eight rebounds, dishing out two assists, and blocking one shot. The graduate guard shot 38.5 percent from the field and went 2-for-2 from the free throw line.

Two days later in Macon, Georgia, Guinn scored 21 points, shooting 50 percent from the floor, and grabbed 11 rebounds to log her fifth double-double of the season in a 61-52 win over Mercer. The Oak Ridge, Tennessee, product contributed two assists and went 9-for-11 at the charity stripe. The Mocs are now 8-0 when Guinn scores 20 or more points in a game. Guinn is currently second in the SoCon in scoring, third in field goal percentage, third in free throw percentage, eighth in rebounding, and ninth in assists this season.

Chattanooga (21-3, 9-0 SoCon) will travel to ETSU on Saturday, Feb 17.
