SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer’s Teodora Ristic has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Feb. 6-12, the conference announced on Tuesday.  The award is selected by the league office.

Ristic went 2-0 this week, picking up two singles wins in straight sets at the No. 1 position with wins over Army and Georgetown at the Army Tri-Match in West Point, New York.

In her match against Army’s Jenna Sable on Saturday, Ristic won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. The Bears won the match 4-1. The next day, the Nis, Serbia, native won against Georgetown’s Chloe Bendetti, 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 in the Bears’ 4-2 setback.
 
For doubles, the senior paired with Marina de Diego Quinones at the No. 1 position. The pair’s match against Army went unfinished as Mercer claimed the doubles point. The duo then suffered a 6-4 loss against Georgetown’s Bendetti and Katie Garofolo-Ro.

Mercer (3-2) hosts Georgia Southern on Wednesday, Feb. 14, before going to Clemson on Saturday, Feb. 17.
