SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Leonardo Dal Boni has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for all competition from Jan. 16-22. The selection is made by the league office.
Dal Boni led Furman in singles play during its first home matches of the season against Queens (N.C.) and James Madison. The true freshman posted a pair of straight-set victories at No. 2 singles, marking the first two singles wins of his career. Dal Boni began last weekend with a 6-2, 6-1 victory against Queens’ Laurenz Blickwede, which helped lead the Paladins to their first victory of the season. He followed with another straight set triumph, 6-4, 6-3, versus James Madison’s Julian Lozano.
The Paladins are scheduled to get back on the courts, Friday (Jan. 26), when the team squares off against both Bellarmine and North Greenville in Greenville, S.C.
