SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Ralitsa Alexandrova has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Jan. 16-22, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Alexandrova went 2-0 in the Bucs’ second week of play, picking up two singles wins in straight sets at the No. 6 position Clemson and Virginia Tech.

In ETSU’s 4-3 loss at Clemson on Friday, Alexandrova beat Leigh Van Zyl, 6-3, 6-2. Two days later, she defeated Laima Frosch 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 2-1 in singles matches this season.

ETSU (0-3) faces Middle Tennessee on Friday, February 2.
