SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Rachael Rose has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 26 – Jan. 1, averaging 17 points for the Terriers last week. The award is selected by the league office.

Rose, who won the honor on Nov. 21, Dec. 5, Dec. 19, and Dec. 26, led Wofford offensively last week during the Terriers 76-57 setback at Georgia on Dec. 30. Rose, a junior, scored a team-leading 22 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out six assists for her fourth double-double this season.

In a 74-43 win against North Greenville on New Year’s Day, Rose scored 13 points, secured nine rebounds, and had seven assists in 25 minutes of playing time. The guard also contributed three steals and went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.

The Scranton, Pennsylvania, product has scored double digit points in a program-record 33 consecutive games and leads the SoCon in four categories including scoring (20.0), free throw percentage (.881), assists (5.5), and assist to turnover ratio (2.2).

Wofford (8-6) travels to UNCG on Thursday, Jan. 11, to open conference play.
