SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU forward Jaden Seymour has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 25-31 after leading the Buccaneers to their eighth win of the season. The award is selected by the league office.
Seymour led ETSU to an 86-70 victory at East Carolina on Dec. 29, marking the team’s highest point total against a Division I opponent this season. The native of Charlotte, North Carolina, filled the stat sheet, finishing with 24 points, six rebounds, three blocks, two steals and an assist in the contest. The junior shot 7-for-11 (.636) from the field and was 9-for-10 (.900) at the charity stripe. Seymour’s performance helped ETSU get its second win at East Carolina in program history, with the first coming on Dec. 7, 1966.
ETSU (8-5) opens conference play on Wednesday hosting Mercer (7-6) before traveling to UNCG (9-4) on Saturday.
