SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Campbell’s Anthony Molten has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Jan. 3-9. The selection is made by the league office.

Molten, the first wrestler in school history to take first place at the Franklin & Marshall Open, had an outstanding week for the Camels. The Crest Hill, Illinois, native was a perfect 5-0 after starting the tournament with a tech fall over Jack Parker (unattached, F&M) in 6:15. He then recorded two fall victories – against Grant Treaster (Navy) in 4:14, and versus Binghamton's Carson Wagner in 4:01. Molton then defeated a pair of N.C. State wrestlers in the semifinals and final. First, he recorded a 5-4 decision over Vince Robinson with a takedown in the final 30 seconds. He followed up with another takedown in the final 30 seconds and a victory over Troy Hohman (4-1) to take first place.

The Fighting Camels will return to the mat on Sunday (Jan. 14), when the team squares off against American, Central Michigan and CSU Bakersfield at the Chippewa Challenge in Bakersfield, Calif.
