SoCon releases SAAC Leadership for 2023-24 school year

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference (SoCon) is pleased to announce the leadership for the 2023-24 SoCon Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The SAAC plays a crucial role in representing student-athletes within the conference, fostering leadership, and initiating positive change in collegiate athletics.

Dominic Ganley, a redshirt junior on Samford’s baseball team, has been appointed as the Chair of the 2023-24 SoCon SAAC. Ganley brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to this leadership role. On the field, Ganley has 21 appearances as a relief pitcher, logging 18 innings on the mound and recording 15 strikeouts.

Olivia Lipari, who is a junior on Chattanooga's softball team, has been named as the Vice Chair of the SoCon SAAC. Lipari's passion for the game and her dedication to academic excellence make her an ideal candidate for this leadership position. Lipari was a second-team all-conference player and a member of the SoCon all-tournament team last season.

The SoCon SAAC is dedicated to promoting the well-being of student-athletes, encouraging academic success, and facilitating a positive student-athlete experience. This committee consists of student-athletes from SoCon member institutions, and they collaborate on various initiatives to enhance the overall collegiate athletics experience.

"We are thrilled to have Dominic Ganley and Olivia Lipari leading the SoCon SAAC for the 2023-24 academic year," said Terri Brne, Senior Associate Commissioner of The Southern Conference. "Their passion, leadership, and dedication to their respective sports and academics make them ideal choices to guide the SAAC's efforts in supporting our student-athletes."

The Southern Conference looks forward to the positive impact that Dominic Ganley and Olivia Lipari will have on the 2023-24 SoCon SAAC and the student-athletes they represent. Their leadership promises to contribute to the continued success and development of collegiate athletics within the conference.
