SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Anna Morgan has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Sept. 20-26. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Morgan won the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina, which wrapped play Sunday. The senior posted rounds of 70-66-67 for a tournament score of 203 (-13), tying the lowest three-round total in tournament history. The Spartanburg, South Carolina, native shared the lead for birdies during the tournament with 15 and had an average score of 3.80 on par-4 holes, which led the field. Morgan’s win marked the fifth time in her Paladin career that she took home an individual title, placing her in a tie with four others for the most individual wins in school history.
 
Furman finished tied for first in the 16-team, 99-golfer field, with a 5-under-par 859 performance. The Paladins shot 285 in the first round, 290 in the second round and 284 in the final round.
 
The Paladins play their next tournament in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the Evie Odom Invitational on Oct. 6-8.
