COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Saturday afternoon, the ETSU men’s tennis season came to end with a 4-0 loss to No. 3 overall seed Ohio State in the Columbus Regional at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
 
With the loss, the Bucs end the year with a 12-14 overall record. With a 30-2 overall mark, Ohio State advances to the second round and will matchup with Louisville on Sunday at noon.
 
Starting the match with some early momentum, the duo of Thiago Pernas and Francisco Lamas out-battled the No. 20 ranked duo in the nation, Andrew Lutschaunig and James Trotter, in a 6-3 contest. With their win at the No. 2 slot, the duo improved to six straight wins to finish with a perfect 6-0 record.
 
The Buckeyes would eventually claim the doubles point, winning the two other matches.
 
In singles play, Ohio State took the point on courts three, five and six. The matches for Dimitri Badra and Pernas at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots went unfinished, as Jack Anthrop secured the match-winning point for the Buckeyes on court six over Lamas.
