SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Anna Morgan has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 1-7. The selection is made by the league office.
Morgan won the UNF Collegiate, which wrapped play Tuesday. The native of Spartanburg, South Carolina, posted rounds of 66-70-68 for a tournament score of 12-under-par 204. The senior’s victory was the third individual championship win of her career. Morgan led the tournament’s field with 16 birdies as she led the event after each round was played.
Furman finished second in the 17-team, 90-golfer UNF Collegiate. The Paladins shot 286 in the first round, 291 in the second round and 287 in the final round.
The Paladins return to action on March 11-12 at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
